The institution was started in 1968 by Govt. of Maharashtra as a ‘Normal School, specially to train the in-service teachers working in Vidarbha region the training institute namely, ‘Normal school’ was imparting the teachers. The B.Ed. course two years two years duration specially for in-services teachers. The in-services teachers training courses of three to seven days duration was being conducted for orienting or refreshing the new knowledge, concepts researches and methodologies to the secondary and upper primary teachers of BULDANA District on the strength of the financial assistance of state council for educational research and training (S.C.E.R.T.) Pune.
In a nutshell the institution was being run as full- fledged teachers training institute for Vidarbha region.
It gives me an immense pleasure to share that Govt. College Of Education, Buldhana faced 2nd cycle of NAAC reaccreditation process in march 2017and national assessment and accreditation committee an autonomous body of MHRD, New Delhi specially started for bringing quality in teacher education colleges and institution was pleased to according “A” Grade with 03.12 CGPA.
The College has submitted MAS (Mandatory Affidavit System) the data for P.G. and U.G. courses (M.Ed and B.Ed. courses) and became eligible to impart the teacher’s training to desirous would be teachers, as per the new mandate of NCTE.
The college has M.Ed. (pre-service course of Two years duration) became fully eligible to make the institute as composite college which was made compulsory by the supreme-courts order.
The College has research recognition centre affiliated by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati, University, Amravati in faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies forEducation. The College has permanent affiliation for the B.Ed course by S. G. B. A. University, Amravati.
The College has a huge structure comprising of administrative, academic blocks, playground, etc. are procured along with trained experience faculties with Doctorate Degree and Net/ Set Holders along with the special teachers of Yoga, fine and performing arts. All the laboratories are fully furnished and equipped with furniture fixtures and necessary instructional structure.
